Million Dollar Cheese Dip

  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 8 slices of bacon, cooked crispy
  • 1 (8-ounce) package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 green onions, finely sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper


  1. Prep:

    • Toast slivered almonds in a small skillet over medium heat until lightly browned. Set aside.
    • Cook bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels, allow to cool, then crumble into small pieces.
    • Finely slice green onions, separating the white and light green parts from the darker green tops.
  2.  In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.

  3. Stir in cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, slivered almonds, the white/light green parts of the onions, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.

  4. Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (ideally several hours) to allow flavours to blend.

  5.  Before serving, garnish with the darker green tops of the onions. Enjoy with crackers, bagel chips, or vegetables.


  • For the best flavour, shred the sharp cheddar cheese yourself from a block. Pre-shredded cheese often has additives that affect texture and melting.
  • Flavor Variations:
    • Add chopped jalapenos for a spicy kick
    • Use smoked almonds for added smoky depth
    • Substitute some of the cheddar for Monterey Jack.
  •  This dip tastes even better if you make it the day before you plan to serve it.
